❤️ Why you'll love it
Kid friendly: kids of all ages love a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and monkey bread, so why not combine the two and make PBJ Monkey Bread!
Easy Monkey Bread Recipe: this gooey pull-apart bread is so easy to make by using canned biscuit dough, it makes the perfect brunch on Christmas morning or an amazing dessert for after dinner.
Less sugar: This recipe has less sugar than the traditional monkey bread
🥘 Ingredients
Biscuit dough: if you can't find the small cans of biscuits, you can use the 1 can of grands biscuits or canned pizza dough instead.
Granulated or brown sugar (use whichever you have on hand)
Ground cinnamon
Strawberry jelly (I chose a lower sugar brand)
Creamy peanut butter: I recommend using a reduced sugar peanut butter. Don't use natural peanut butter unless it is not stiff. Microwaving natural peanut butter will cause it to seize.
Cooking spray
🔪 Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 9" round cake pan with cooking spray.
- Cut biscuits into quarters then toss with cinnamon sugar mixture in a large mixing bowl.
- Place ½ cinnamon sugar coated biscuit mixture in bottom of prepared pan. It will not cover the entire bottom of the pan.
- Place jam in a microwave safe small bowl and heat for 30 seconds. This is long enough to loosen the jam and make it easy to drizzle over the biscuit dough.
- Place 2nd layer of biscuits pieces over top of jam covered biscuit pieces. Place in oven and bake 23-25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
- Remove monkey bread from oven and place on cooling rack.
- Microwave peanut butter for 30 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until smooth. Peanut butter will be slightly runny. Drizzle peanut butter over top of baked monkey bread. Let cool 10 minutes.
- Mix confectioner's sugar, milk, and vanilla . Drizzle icing over top of over top of monkey bread. Serve warm.
🥄 Equipment
9" round cake pan: if you have a small bundt pan you can use this as well.
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Mixing bowls
Cooling rack
Microwave
🥫Storage
Room temperature: store leftover peanut butter and jelly monkey bread in an airtight container up to 3 days.
Refrigerate: store in an airtight container up to 5 days.
Reheat: if desired, warm monkey bread in the microwave on a microwave safe plate until heated through.
📖 Variations
Peanut Butter Caramel Monkey Bread: Leave out the jelly and substitute 1 tablespoon caramel sauce for 1 tablespoon of the peanut butter.
Peanut Butter Cup Monkey Bread: Skip the jelly and bake the monkey breat with just the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle with miniature peanut butter cups and drizzle with melted peanut butter.
Cinnamon Roll Version: Use canned cinnamon rolls instead of biscuit dough. Melt the peanut butter and stir it into glaze mixture. Drizzle over top of warm monkey bread.
Spiced sugar version: instead of the cinnamon sugar coating, use 2 tablespoons of this spiced sugar to coat the biscuits instead!
💭 Tips
- I used a squirt bottle of jam. If it is easier, you can melt the jam in the microwave for 15 seconds then evenly pour it over top of biscuits.

The Last Word
It has been a very long time since my children have gone to school but I sure do remember the days when they were in school. My boys were my life and it got really hard when they went out and started their own life in the real world. That said, I still enjoy being with them to the fullest extent when I can!
I first made this monkey bread recipe when my youngest son Christopher and his girlfriend Miriah (now wife) sent their first child off to school. I now live in North Carolina nearby and make this delicious treat for my grandson!

I think the last word in your recipe should be "devour" because that is what would happen to that bread here.
