SOUTHERN SWEET POTATO PIE

This Southern holiday tradition is an easy recipe that uses canned yams to produce a classic Thanksgiving dessert!

INGREDIENTS

- candied yams - eggs - heavy whipping cream - sugar - vanilla - salt - butter - cornstarch - pumpkin pie spice - pie crust - whipped cream

Combine the mashed yams, eggs, egg yolk, and whipping cream

Add the sugar, spices, vanilla, cornstarch, and butter to the sweet potato mixture.

Roll the pie crust out to fit the pie dish, then bake for 3 minutes.

Remove the pie shell and add the pie filling, spreading with a the back of a spoon.

Bake pie on a baking sheet in the oven for 12 minutes, then cool 3-4 hours and serve!
