- In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.

- Remove from heat and quickly stir in confectioners' sugar and vanilla extract. Pour into prepared pan and set aside.
- In a heatproof bowl, microwave caramels and bourbon on high for 1-¼ minutes or until melted. just melted.
- Stir nuts into caramel mixture and spread caramel over top of the fudge.
- In a small microwave safe bowl, heat dark chocolate chips on high for 30 seconds or until melted; spread over caramel layer. Chill until firm.

Where in the recipe is "brown" sugar? Also, I don't see salt in the recipe.

Hi Mary, the recipe uses granulated sugar in the boiled part of the recipe. The only salt is the gray sea salt sprinkled on top of the chocolate and that is optional and to taste. I will update the recipe to reflect this so there is no confusion. Thanks!
