- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large mixing bowl, mix together white sugar, brown sugar, and butter until creamy and well incorporated.
- Add egg and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
- In separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to butter mixture and mix until well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl while mixing to fully incorporate.
- Fold in m&m candies and drop dough by tablespoons onto prepared baking sheet. Strageticaly place a few m&m candies on top of the cookie dough balls, pressing them in slightly to adhere.
- Bake cookies at 350 for 9 minutes, until cookies are golden brown around the edges with a the top of the cookie has a slightly less baked center.
- Cool cookies on a wire rack for 2 minutes. Transfer cookies using a cookie spatular to a cooling rack and cool completely.
