Pizza dough: I used premade pizza dough, but you can also make your own homemade pizza dough.
Fresh parsley or dried Italian seasoning
🔪 Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees and spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray.
- Open each can of pizza dough and lay on a flat surface.
- Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, carefully cut each piece of dough into 1-inch strips, cutting horizontal.Take each strip and make garlic knots by gently tying a knot in the middle. Do not pull tight.
- Fold in the two loose sides and tuck into the knot. Work and pinch the dough to create a knotted ball.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter and seasonings. Mix until well blended.
- Using a silicone brush, brush the tops of each garlic knot until coated well.
- Place garlic knots in a single layer inside the air fryer, working batches at a time. Be sure the knots do not touch.
- Bake for 5-6 minutes or until golden brown.
- Sprinkle top of the dough knots with grated parmesan cheese and chopped parsley. Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.

Room temperature or refrigerate: store in an airtight container up to 5 days.
Freeze: store in a freezer safe, airtight container, up to 3 months
Reheat: wrap garlic knots in aluminum foil and reheat at 350 degrees in the oven for 5-7 minutes. You can also do a quick reheat in the microwave oven for 10-20 seconds.
📖 Variations
- Use fresh garlic or garlic powder instead of salt and salted butter instead of unsalted.
- Sprinkle the top of the garlic knots with mozzarella cheese before baking.
💭 Air Fryer Garlic Knots Tips
- To prevent ripping, when creating your dough knots, don’t pull too tight on the dough.
- If the dough sticks to your fingers, dust them lightly will some all purpose flour or spray hands with olive oil cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the knots ahead of time and store them in the fridge covered lightly with plastic wrap until ready to bake.
- Knots can be frozen on the baking sheet, then transferred to an airtight container. Store in the freezer until ready to cook. (Frozen knots may take a little longer to bake)
